Doom 3 Source Code

A few months ago John Carmack, founding father of iD Software and one of the most important figures in the video game world, said that he would make the source code of the legendary game Doom 3 freely available. And now he's done it.

Starting now, any user can use and play around with the code of this classic game from iD Software, from which John Carmack has removed any trace of Doom 3 to avoid legal conflicts with its distributors.

Remember that the id Tech 4 (the name of the motor behind Doom 3) has been used even this year for games like Brink, so in spite of the fact that it's several years old, it still works great.
